Packers release Sanders, 5 other coaches
MILWAUKEE - The Green Bay Packers season came apart thanks in large part to a defense that consistently blew fourth-quarter leads. Defensive coordinator Bob Sanders and most of his staff were let go Monday as a result.

EAA will not seek city financing district for expanded exhibition hall on AirVenture grounds
Experimental Aircraft Association CEO Tom Poberezny said his organization has abandoned efforts to secure taxpayer-funded assistance from the city of Oshkosh for a new exhibition hall on the AirVenture grounds.

Obituaries received today
Dorothy Julia Sobieski, age 93, of Berlin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her eight children and other family and friends on Sunday morning January 4, 2009 at the Juliette Manor Nursing Home of Berlin.
Funeral services with the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church of Berlin with the Rev. Jerome Maksvytis officiating, and inurnment will follow in the Saint Marks Catholic Cemetery of Redgranite.
Immediately following the services at the cemetery a dinner and fellowship with the family will be held at the City Inn of Berlin and all are invited.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the memorial visitation, at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin on Saturday only January 10, 2009 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. before we leave for the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the All Saints Parish Building Fund in her memory.

Hearing in child pornography case for Richard Juedes delayed to Jan. 15
A preliminary court hearing man for an Oshkosh man charged with exhibition of child pornography was delayed until next week after Winnebago County Court Commissioner David Keck on Monday approved a request to appoint him an attorney.

Police report from districts 2 and 5
Oshkosh police responded to the following incidents in patrol districts 2 and 5. District 2 is south of New York Avenue and east of North Main Street and District 5 consists of most of the area north of Ninth Avenue and West of Ohio Street. The information is compiled by the districts patrol sergeants. Reports from other patrol districts will be added as the information becomes available.

APPLETON A 23-year-old Appleton woman was jailed Sunday afternoon for striking her mother in the head with a sewing machine.
