As we prepare for the upcoming roofing season, the team at Lakewood Roofing is brushing up and learning new skills to better serve our customers. Most recently, two of our associates completed NRCA / WRCA SpecRight Program. The skills acquired will help our customers lower energy consumption and conserve resources, and thus save money. Program topics included: evaluation of variables affecting thermal performance of roof assemblies, requirements of energy code standards including ASHRAE 90.1-1999, design of ASHRAE 90.1 compliant roofs, roof systems and sustainable building design, and the benefits of energy-efficient roof system design. For the coming month we have scheduled the greater bulk of the 60 minimum hours of classroom time each employee receives yearly. We use this training to refresh our knowledge base, as well as acquire new skills. Some of the topics scheduled thus far include: safety and C.P.R., asbestos training, specialized material training, and specialized equipment training. We look forward to the coming year as we implement our refreshed perspective. |
